Two pre-teen boys settle in for a fun afternoon of video games when the one boy’s mother leaves them alone on a Sunday. Their proposed idyll is interrupted when their pretty young neighbour shows up and asks to use their oven to bake a cake, as hers is broken. Then the pizza delivery man shows up 11 seconds after the guaranteed delivery time, prompting a sit-in between the two parties, one who refuses to pay and the other who refuses to leave. How these characters interact with each other in the mindfuck of an afternoon that unfolds, through totally spontaneous events and conversations, makes for a gentle, interesting but not quite captivating coming-of-age film. Directed with grace and subtlety, it is nonetheless more of a curiosity than a satisfying experience.
