Maybe if this ridiculous reefer comedy weren’t so boring it would score higher points. Rap music stars Redman and Method Man are excellent as two marijuana enthusiasts who get in to Harvard University (thanks to some supernatural assistance, the lamest subplot in the film) and proceed to turn the straight-laced, whitey-tighty campus upside down and on its ear. They only get about as far as throwing some wild parties and baffling the nerdy captain of the rowing team, and even then they don’t really induce many laughs doing it. Hector Elizondo has a funny cameo as the rowing team’s conniving coach, but for the most part the humour falls flat, a shame considering the two stars have a lot more potential than what is being shown here. The last third is especially appalling, featuring a disgusting grave-digging sequence and a poorly edited finale.
