Totally bland, unmemorable thriller about a cop (Willem Dafoe) in a small town whose investigation of a murder leads him to a big operation being controlled by the FBI. Not one to back down from a challenge, Dafoe decides to keep moving until he gets to the bottom of whatever is going on in this sinister new circle that he has entered. Co-starring Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio, Samuel L. Jackson and Mickey Rourke, the excellent cast is the biggest sell here, otherwise it won’t really remain in your mind for long after you’ve seen it.
