Mia Kyria Sta Bouzoukia

(out of 5)

The cheese drips off every shot of this harmless musical comedy fluff, starring  as a young woman desperate to get away from the insanely conservative control of her three overprotective brothers. They have no idea that she’s actually having a mild love affair with soccer player , but they’re probably going to find out since her oldest brother () is his teammate. Things gets complicated when Georgitsis catches the eye of a wealthy business woman () and becomes her secret lover, meanwhile Boutsas romances the rich lady’s maid (), who is pretending to be her employer. The plot is derivative while the musical numbers are what should save it; they almost do because the tunes sound perfectly lovely, but the staging is so incredibly mawkish and ripely choreographed that the scenes really place the film in the cheerful realm of pure, unadulterated kitsch.
