This undersea adventure is as comparable to The Abyss as Cool World is to Who Framed Roger Rabbit. A crew aboard an undersea mining vessel come upon an extraterrestrial being that kills them and makes their bodies part of its own. When you finally get a good view of the creature in question, it’s so laughably cheesy that any slim chance of you having been emotionally involved before has now become a strict impossibility. Peter Weller leads the cast of bored actors who quickly take care of performing their cardboard cutout characters and then collect their pay on their way out. It looks ugly, reads stupid and is a giant bore.
