ALFRED HITCHCOCK
Bil’s rating (out of 5): BBB.

Less-than-spectacular Hitchcock yarn about a paranoid housewife (Joan Fontaine, working with the director again after their success with Rebecca) who is convinced that her husband (Cary Grant) is trying to kill her. Lots of other movies along similar lines (Gaslight, Sorry Wrong Number) have been done to better effect. Beware of prints that have been computer colorized! Do you really want to see a scary movie in queasy pastels?
Academy Award: Best Actress (Joan Fontaine)
Nominations: Best Picture; Best Score of a Dramatic Picture
