As is par for the course, the sequel doesn’t measure up to the original. Following his adventures from the land down under to New York City, Mick (the winningly charming Paul Hogan) is now happily living with his lady love (Linda Kozlowski) in the Big Apple and enjoying marital bliss. This time, Kozlowski gets an evil druglord hot on her tail and Hogan has to take her back to Australia in order to protect her. Everything that was fun and spontaneous in the first installment has been traded in for a Lethal Weapon-style plot and the typical chases and shootouts that come with it. Stick with the real thing.
