Powerful account of an 19th century Belgian priest (Jan Decleir) who fought for social reform against the oppressive government of the day. Decleir is excellent as a man with a rare conscience who could no longer abide the destitute poverty of the factory workers living all around him, and decided to do something about against all odds (sometimes at the risk of his own life). Stijn Coninx directs this fascinating, fact-based drama.
