He Loves Me, He Loves Me Not

BBBB

(out of 5)

Original title:  A La Folie…Pas Du Tout

Shockingly clever film stars as a young woman having an affair with a married man () who won’t leave his wife despite her best efforts.   Halfway through the plot, the film stops and gives an alternate perspective to a story that defies some of the best gimmick movies you’ve seen. First-time filmmaker Laetitia Colombani has a great time playing tricks on the audience but never gets too caught up in her own brilliance: the story also has heart and an abundance of emotional subtext.
