Wonderful glimpse into the world of Broadway that takes you backstage during the production run of Moon Over Buffalo starring Carol Burnett and Philip Bosco. Chris Hegedus and D.A. Pennebaker, who formerly shared the Monterey Pop festival with the world, show you read-throughs, rehearsals and performances as we watch these terrific performers make a hit out of fluffy entertainment. Burnett is especially watchable, years after her terrific television series and a movie career that never quite happened; the night that her stage curtain has a mechanical fault that prevents it from rising and she entertains her audience with personal anecdotes is a look at a fantastic professional at work. It’s a memorable tribute to the grease painted world that dances before the footlights.
