Original title: Le Mystere Picasso
Fascinating experimental film, in which Henri-Georges Clouzot films Pablo Picasso painting a canvas right onto the screen (he’s actually painting on specially designed, transparent canvasses), giving a first-class view into the complete artistic process. The paintings themselves are beautiful, and the music is memorable as well. Art fanatics will definitely want to see this, while more narrative-oriented audiences should probably rent a conventional biography (like Surviving Picasso) instead.
