Spanish Civil War-era drama features a love triangle between three performers. Ángela Molina has an instant connection with Ángel de Andrés López and they begin to perform together while maintaining a personal relationship. Enter Manuel Bandera as a man who catches Molina’s eye but is personally more geared towards the gentlemen, a dangerous thing considering the political climate. Bandera and Molina make a terrific dancing team onstage, but behind the scenes their situations are quite different. Similar to Ay, Carmela!, though not zesty enough without a performer of Carmen Maura’s caliber.
