USA, 1994. New Line Cinema. Screenplay by Michael De Luca. Cinematography by Gary B. Kibbe. Produced by Sandy King. Music by John Carpenter, Jim Lang. Production Design by Jeff Ginn. Costume Design by Robin Michel Bush. Film Editing by Edward A. Warschilka.
A horror writer (Jürgen Prochnow) becomes the object of an investigation when his latest tome causes his readers to go completely insane and he himself disappears. His editor (Sam Neill) looks for him in the supposedly-fictional town that his book takes place in, but will he find him or is his mind in danger of the same fate as well? Some creepy moments here and there, but the ending is weak and undermines the entire thing.
