Original title:  Stadt Land Fluss

Abandoning the world of finance because it fails to inspire him, a young man takes up an internship on a farm outside of Berlin. His fellow students include many young men who have entered the program as a way to escape their troubled past, helped to a better future thanks to the generosity and kindness of their instructors. While working very hard to keep up with the rigorous demands of agricultural labour, he meets a fellow student who is almost ready to graduate, one who seems to have very little to say and keeps mostly to himself. The two young men spend enough time together that, eventually, they discover a kinship that blossoms into something lovelier. This very subtle, slow-moving drama is rich with atmosphere and tension, overlaid with a muted but strongly felt sense of romance. It never screams out its intentions, but its subtlety is always sexy without ever being pretentious, and the performances are impressively natural.
