Superior sequel to On Moonlight Bay that continues to rip off Meet Me In St. Louis with its good ole’ fashioned family charm. Doris Day is once again the spunky lass who continues to romance returned serviceman Gordon MacRae. The shenanigans that they get into are more fun this time, and there’s also a subplot involving her precocious little brother (the male counterpart to Margaret O’Brien’s character in St. Louis) and a hot torch singer. The score is beautifully produced, centring around the title song.
