More greatest-hit clips from MGM’s vault, with the novelty wearing slightly thin but the material still entertaining. Hollywood veterans Gene Kelly and Fred Astaire take you on a continuing tour of the golden age of MGM movies, with song and dance numbers from films starring Judy Garland, Mickey Rooney, Bing Crosby, etc. In addition, comedic and dramatic clips are presented, showcasing a fuller range of the studio’s luminous output than the first one displayed. It’s a bit more haphazardly put together, but technique isn’t important when one considers the amount of great material being highlighted here. It’s a nice recap for avid watchers of old movies.
