Cheesy Alien ripoff that stars Jamie Lee Curtis (a worthy substitute for Jamie Lee Curtis if the film was better) leading a crew of salvage sailors who board a Russian ship that mysteriously goes dead in the middle of the ocean. What they don’t know is that an alien force has infected the ship’s computers and electronics and is making the keyboards and monitors come alive. Even fans of bad science-fiction action films will find this a dull retread of already dying cliches. Also starring William Baldwin and Donald Sutherland, the film is the directorial debut of visual effects supervisor John Bruno (who won an Academy Award for The Abyss).
