AIRBORNEBBB

(out of 5)

Pleasant teen film should please its target audience perfectly. A young surfing aficionado () from California moves in with his Ohio relatives when his zoologist parents receive an assignment to go work in Australia and can’t take him with them. Once he arrives, he befriends his cousin () but inspires the wrath of local tough guys who immediately target him. Not one to engage in gang warfare, McDermott takes a more pacifist approach to the baddies until he is given the opportunity to challenge them in a roller blade match, a sport that is the closest he can manage to surfing. Great blade races highlight this so-so film, a pleasant entertainment for young people.
