Who wouldn’t be able to sympathize with a blue dog whose big dream is to become a real boy? Nathan Lane is a riot as the voice of the charming pet who disguises himself as a lad to attend school with his best friend and owner. When he learns that there’s a mad scientist in Florida who is doing experiments on animals to turn them into humans, he decides to hop on down to the Sunshine State and try to see if it will work on him. Along the way, he learns about the value of friendship and the rich rewards that can come from accepting yourself for who you are. This adaptation of the popular Disney television show is made lively by charming animation and a totally wacky sense of humour. Kids will love it, and adults will probably laugh more than they expect to.
