Timothy Olyphant leads the many likeable faces as a thirtysomething guy looking for love in mean old L.A. who is constantly beset by his own willingness to settle for less; his best friend (Dean Cain) is a movie star hopeful who keeps getting by on his looks but wants people to see more. Succeeding more in its comedic moments than when it tries to get too serious, writer-director Greg Berlanti never really develops his characters enough for his audience to feel too strongly for them in their more tender and emotional scenes towards the end, but watching these guys sit around and decide which character from Steel Magnolias they resemble is definitely fun. Great cast with very appealing personalities.
