More junk madness as the famous eighties toys return for their second sequel to the 2007 hit film. Michael Bay is once again at the helm of a loud, tasteless and incomprehensible mess as the Autobots and Decepticons go head to head in yet another battle for the future of planet earth, this time with the involvement of characters who come from the moon. That might not be the plot, but between the roaring action scenes and the garbage interactions between human characters Shia LaBeouf and his girlfriend Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, it’s very difficult to ascertain what is actually going on. It’s better than the second one, in that it is brainless but not as boring, but why these films need to take up a walloping 150 minute running time to tell a story that could easily be covered in a half hour Saturday morning cartoon is beyond me.
