Fun action film stars perfectly cast Richard Dreyfuss and Emilio Estevez as undercover cops who can never seem to get it right. Their latest assignment is to observe the activity in a woman’s house after her ex-boyfriend (Aidan Quinn), a dangerous criminal, escapes from prison. Dreyfuss breaks the rules by engaging in conversations with her (Madeleine Stowe in an early role), eventually falling in love and mixing his job up with his personal life. The pace is zippy, the dialogue is funny, and somehow Dreyfuss’s naturally obnoxious personality never grates on your nerves.
