In this inane comedy directed by and starring Dan Aykroyd, Chevy Chase plays a well-off financier who meets swanky Demi Moore and decides to take her with him to a business convention. During their long road trip, they perform a minor traffic infraction in a dusty little town and get themselves hauled to court. The creepy judge there (Aykroyd) turns out to be a small sign of things to come, as the town turns out to be full of ghosts and ghouls with booby traps and dangerous situations lurking everywhere. This carnival ride has the opportunity to be a fun throwback to Saturday matinee movies of the 1960s, but it doesn’t pay the slightest bit of tribute to the intelligence of even its youngest viewers. Features Aykroyd’s SCTV and Saturday Night Live alumni in starring roles, while Moore looks stupid appearing in this film just after her big success with Ghost.
