Grungy little British indie about a music producer who falls in love with a rough boxer from the sticks. The boxer is at first hesitant to fall into the relationship, not completely comfortable with his newly discovered sexuality or a committed relationship, but soon finds the object of his affection to be too desirable to avoid. A moderately-talented club singer adds some colour to this sudsy melodrama that doesn’t have anything in particular to recommend it, except for anyone tired of seeing gay characters in funny, snazzy supporting roles. Roger Daltrey appears as a collagen-pumping bigwig whose charms are starting to fail him.
