Coming Home

Coming HomeBBB.5

(out of 5)

Moving film that, along with The Deer Hunter the same year, initiated the popularity of Vietnam-angst films.  plays a nurse in a hospital for veterans of the war who develops a love/hate relationship with bitter paraplegic .  turns in a terrifying performance as Fonda’s disillusioned husband. It’s another seventies film that was so important for its time but has lost impact over the years. Fonda used a body double for her love scenes with Voight.
