Philosophically immersed serio-comedy inspired by the poems of Caesar Vallejo that took director Roy Andersson four years to complete. Essentially it is a collection of disjointed scenes, each of them filmed in a single take, that describe all manner of situations that the human condition experiences: life and death, love and loneliness. Some are obscurely curious while others delightfully funny, and still a few are beautiful in their sense of the bizarre. Although it has its moments of interest, the film will only be appreciated by a very select group of viewers: even the most daring out there will have to admit that at least some of the skits are very dull.
