My Old Addiction

You, The Living (Du Levande)

BBBB

(out of 5)

Another collection of wry vignettes from Roy Andersson, director of the arthouse hit Songs From The Second Floor. Once again there are a number of witty observances of human behavior in meticulously controlled situations, this time not quite as surreal as in the previous film but still reaching a poetic extreme that qualifies them as beyond the grasp of everyday reality. Most are incredibly funny, some are poignant, all of them are perfectly performed and directed with incredible precision by the filmmaker.
